Trying to write your website is a funny old thing. We can all write. So, it can feel frustrating when you sit down to write your website and it’s really hard. It’s easy to get all down on yourself, and beat yourself up.

It's normal  if you struggle with your website copy. You can be a great writer and still have a site that’s a bit limp. Website copy is a craft and an art all of its own. It took me years to learn.

Your website copy has  a lot of heavy lifting to do. It must answer your clients’ questions,  showcase your smarts, prove you deliver, and  give folks a feel for who you are. That's a lot to cover, especially if you've never written a website before. 

Most solo pros don’t have enough money to hire a copywriter when they start out. And the way the market is, even established coaches and consultants are counting their pennies and doing some DIY.  

It’s super common for coaches and consultants to have sites that no longer reflect their practice. When that happens, you can start to feel a bit embarrassed about your site. That’s not much fun.

No. I’ll be running the copywriting workshops live on Zoom, and the weekly check in sessions will be live on Zoom too. You’ll get Zoom links for all the sessions when you book your slot for the course.

You’ll also get a worksheet for each workshop, recapping all the things we’ve discussed (so you don’t have to frantically scribble notes), along with writing exercises, website page templates, story frameworks, and real-life examples of kick arse websites to get you inspired.

Is this course suitable for brand new solopreneurs? I’m just starting out on my freelance journey.  

Yes, it is. In fact, I built this for you. I remember what it was like writing my first website. It was really hard, and I’d been a copywriter for 12 years and had written website copy for an enormous number of sites. I wish I’d had a course like this. 

How long will it take to do the course and write my website copy?

Each workshop is 90 minutes, so there will be six hours of learning all up.
We all write at different speeds, so it’s hard to estimate how long it’s going to take you to write your website copy.

My goal is to help you write effective web copy faster than you can all by yourself. This course is designed to make it quicker and easier for you to give potential clients the info and confidence they need to choose you. No more hours wasted wondering what you should cover on your site. No more time spent agonizing over how you should sound.

I estimate writing a simple site with one offer and one case study will take you somewhere between 14-20 hours. The more services you have, the longer writing your site will take.

On top of writing, you’ll spend some time contacting your clients to request testimonials and interviewing them for case studies.

I’m not including here the time it will take you to write a library of resources. That takes time, and as part of the course I’ll show you some ways to make creating resources part of your content marketing plan.
